Kaitlyn Capano
5th Year Teacher

Mrs. Capano is originally from Weddington, North Carolina, but her husband and her now reside in Belmont. She was born and raised Catholic and attended St. Gabriel's Catholic School in Charlotte. This is her first year teaching and she is beyond excited to begin her vocation in education at Saint Michael Catholic School! Some of her hobbies include reading, cooking, and listening to podcasts. She also enjoys kayaking and running 5ks. Her husband and her love to travel and most recently visited the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC.

Her teaching philosophy draws inspiration from classical education, where history, literature, and philosophy are emphasized in her classroom through direct teaching, physical texts, and a detailed schedule. She believes the Catholic faith to be the cornerstone upon which her classroom is built, and her role as an educator is to nurture her students to grow in holiness and align their lives and vocations to the teachings of the Church.

She has a special devotion to Saint Pope John Paul II and his authentic writings on love, faith, and sincerity. She especially admires his impact on Catholic youths and families.
